Wedding Makeup Trial

This is the result of a wedding trial I did a few days ago. The girl wanted neutral colours, mostly some golds that faded out to brown. I used a neutral palette I made at Inglot Cosmetics and Mac's Naked pigment.

The photo's didn't turn out very well considering the lighting was prettyyy bad. And I believe the eyes weren't as dark as they look below. The flash seems to pretty much wash out the colour. Can barely see anything on the lid :/ hmph.

Please let me know what you think? Tell me what I can improve on. If I'm taking part in someone's big day, I want them to look amazing, so any comments, criticism would be appreciated. Thanks!

My "Definite Must-Haves":
  • My Dark Magic and She Who Dares (mineralize eyeshadow duos)
  • Formidable (nail laquer)
  • Violetta (lipstick)
  • Revenge is Sweet (lipglass)
  • Darkly My Dear (blush)
My "If I can afford it" 's:
  • Vile Violet (eyeshadow)
  • Bad Fairy (nail laquer)
  • Wicked Ways (lipglass)

Justifications:

I've decided I NEED the mineralize duos because I never got the chance to grab the mineralize eyeshadows from MAC's Style Black collection.
I also NEED Formidable because its gorgeous, I don't have many polishes and because its dark (which I love!)
As for Violetta lipstick and Revenge Is Sweet... I have no lip products whatsoever that are purple, and therefore I'm convincing myself I should try these.
Darkly My Dear is just super pretty, and matte, and I think it would look pretty decent on my skin tone.

As for Vile Violet.. the more I think about how many purple eyeshadows I have.. the more I'm realising I really do not need another.
I'd really like Bad Fairy because its different to what I normally wear, and I think its gorgeous.
And finally, Wicked Ways.. It's gorgeous, and I want to try and pull off some bolder lip colours. And I think my bf might appreciate that one :D

If prices for this collection are as normal prices, this is the estimated cost for my all items on my wishlist:
AU $299*

For just my "definites", the cost is:
AU $211*

*This is if the pricing for the Venomous Villains Collection is the same as MAC's pricing of the permanent range.

I think for now I'll be sticking to my 'definites' wishlist!

So tell me, what are you absolutely craving from this collection, and what do you think is skippable?

Quick EOTD!

This is the makeup I did for my Dad's 50th birthday dinner. I was really pleased with the final product. Glittahhh :)

^^ This one shows the sparkley-ness the best ^^

I used:
  • Burnt Burgundy Pigment (crease, lower lashline)
  • Napoleon Red Eyeshadow (crease, lower lashline)
  • Shroom Eyeshadow (lid, I think!)
  • NYX Black Eyeshadow (outer 'v', outer lower lashline)
  • Aromaleigh red glitter (lower lashline)
  • NAKED glittery red/pink pigment (over burnt burgundy/red eyeshadow)
  • Fabuliner liquid liner
  • Bourjois Liner Effect Mascara
Sorry I can't remember what I used on my cheeks. I think it may have been a blush by Revlon.. Rose Rapture perhaps.. with some sort of highlight above it.

I wish you could see just how shimmery and pretty this turned out. It was gorgeous, and I loved it :D

Hope you're all well! And welcome to new followers :)

MIA! + question?!

So sorry to everyone, I've been MIA! I've been super busy with work and uni, I had 2 assignments due today, thank GOD they're over. It was also my mum's and my birthday yesterday (same day.. pretty cool huh?), so the day was filled with visits from family, present openings and we went out for lunch too. We were given a free cocktail each for our birthdays :D SOOOOOO good!

So anyway, I should be appearing more as of next week. My Dad's birthday is also in 2 days, so I'll be travelling back home again for that, then back to where I live for work and a joint birthday party for myself and my housemate on Friday :) So I should have some more free time starting next week.

Ok, so kinda the whole reason for this post is to ask you all a question.

If you had $100 to spend on MAC cosmetics, what products would you buy??

I'm asking because my incredibly sweet boyfriend gave me a $100 gift card for a store that sells MAC and I want to research before hand what I'd like to get, instead of rushing in and making an impulse desicion.
So throw some ideas my way :)
What are YOUR must have mac eyeshadows?

Thanks in advance :)

MAC Pigment Haul + Swatches

As promised, here is my MAC pigment haul and swatches. I bought these from a wonderful, trusted seller I came across through Specktra. I'm sure many of you know who she is, Cheryl (1165Cheryl). She is sooo nice and very helpful :)

The sizes are 1/2 tsp! Soooo much!

These are the colours I got:

The cool thing is, when you buy 8, you get one free 1/4 tsp of mac pigment. She lets you suggest a few colours you would like for the freebie, then she randomly picks one you suggested so it turns up as a suprise! My freebie was Blue, and I absolutely LOVE it :)

Have a look at how generous these sample sizes are!

This is the business card that came with my order

The samples were packages very nicely. They all had tape around them to make sure none spilt, and one thing I'm very pleased with is the fact the tape did NOT leave any annoying sticky residue after peeling it off. Not one little bit!

Shipping time was incredible!! Just less than a week to get all the way over to Australia :D

Cheryl has suchhh a huge range of MAC pigments to choose from, including rare and hard to find.. such as burnt burgundy. I'm SO glad I could get my hands on that! And they are 100% authentic. She keeps the receipts of her purchases and encourages people to ask to see them.

Nowww, onto some swatches...

Naked, Vanilla

Vanilla, Pink Opal

Naked, Vanilla, Pink Opal

Burnt Burgundy, Grape

Burnt Burgundy, Grape, Later (Alice + Olivia)

Blue, Partylicious (Alice + Olivia), Teal

Blue, Partylicious

Partylicious, Teal

All, with flash.

Please click to make images bigger, and apologies for any blurry shots :)

I plan on doing a few looks using these pigments in the next few weeks, keep an eye out!

Thanks for looking!

Upcoming!

Just a little notice letting you know I recently bought some MAC pigment samples that I plan on sharing with you guys!

I got some really gorgeous colours and I'm hoping for some decent weather and free time so I can get some swatches done.
I also created a FOTD using a few of the colours, but didn't get to take any pics of it, so I plan on recreating it for Autonomy Day (an excuse to get drunk at uni) tomorrow :D

I also plan on finally getting my review on the Jordana Fabuliner Liquid Eyeliner done sometime soon too :)

If you have any requests, let me know

Simple Look using MAC

Just a simple natural look I created a few days ago. Very easy to do, but I like the end result. This is something I can and probably will wear to work quite often.

I love that my eyes look so GREEEN here :D

All I used on the eyes was:

MAC Shroom on the lid
MAC Satin Taupe in the crease
NYX Black in the outer v (tiny amount)
Jordana Fabuliner
Bourjois Liner Effect Mascara

I kept the cheek simple and used Stereo Rose MSF, and left the lips plain.

I think Shroom and Satin Taupe look quite elegant together, they would be awesome used for wedding makeup too :D

Blue Royale EOTD

The results of me playing with Freshwater again! I really like this. Its super bright and looks so much better in person.

Please click for a larger view!

  • Naked Eyeshadow Base
  • NYX Milk Jumbo Pencil
  • MAC Freshwater (lid)
  • Glamour Doll Eyes Fabulous (inner lid over freshwater)
  • MAC Push The Edge (outer v, crease, over freshwater)
  • Naked blue shimmery pigment ? (inner corner, slightly around upper edge of crease)
  • Jordana Fabuliner
  • Bourjois Liner Effect Mascara
  • Rimmel Soft Eye Kohl Black
  • NYX Black Eyeshadow (to set the eyeliner)
Since realising I didn't have any decent blue eyeshadows, and that i rarely use blue at all, I haven't been able to stop using it! Its so versatile. Maybe I should come to this realisation with greens too...

Please let me know what you think of this look.

Thanks for stopping by!
